Sport Scotland Young Ambassadors Conference

Holly Roberts (S5) and  Reece Gordon (S5) represented Bell Baxter at the above conference in Perth on Thursday 1st September. In addition, Hannah Braidwood (S5) lead workshops as she sits on the National Young Peoples Sport Panel. (Ms McAvoy, Active Schools Co-ordinator)


Fife Schools U18 Football

Congratulations to Ross Falconer (S6) on his selection for this season's Fife Schools U18 football squad. Ross was selected from a large pool of players from across Fife. He will now represent Fife in the national competition against teams from Dundee, North of Scotland and Independant Schools.


UK School Games

Congratulations to Finlay Allan (S4) and Oliver Carter (S5) on their recent success in the UK School Games. Finlay won a Bronze Medal for Judo and Ollie won a Silver Medal for Swimming.


Visit to the University of Edinburgh

S6 Advanced Higher P.E. Pupils Fraser Allan, Fraser Clunas, Mel Andrews, Jamie Thomson, Med Kapasi, Louis Appere, Kieran Fox and Hannah Stenhouse visited Edinburgh University on Wednesday 7th September 2016 as part of their research for the course.


Fife Elite Football Academy - Owen Andrew

Congratulations to Owen Andrew (S4) who has been invited to join the Fife Elite Football Academy squad for this season. The Academy participates in the SFA Club Academy Scotland Programme. (Mr Black)


Expressive Arts Big Share - Staff Initiative

"Big Share" started as a faculty initiative to allow Expressive Arts staff to observe and participate in lessons delivered by other teams within the faculty. This session we have embarked on a series of lunchtime workshop lessons and extended the invite to all faculties. On Tuesday' 13th September the workshop explored different print styles which was enjoyable and informative and everyone left with a piece of Art they had created. There will be a similar event run by another of the teams within Expressive Arts next month.


UCAS Higher Education Convention

S5/S6 learners intending to apply to university in 2017-2018 had an opportunity to attend the UCAS Higher Education Convention on Monday, 12th September, 2016 in the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes where there was representation from a number of universities.

Girls’ Football

Madras College, Tuesday 13th Sept.

The girls showed great character

after being 3-2 down at half time to

come back against Madras College

to win 5-4. Captain Chloe Laing got a

hat-trick and Isla Brown got a double

with Brooklyn Houston Saving a

penalty in the dying moments to give

the girls the first win of the season.







Senior Girls’ Hockey

Waid Academy, Tuesday 13th Sept.

The Bell Baxter Senior Hockey had their first fixture of the year against Waid

Academy on Tuesday 13th September. The Inexperienced but keen side took a lead from the start helping set Olivia Cromar up for her 2 great goals in the first half. The second half started with Waid being dominant on the ball for a time and getting their first goal after multiple saves from keeper Mairi Gilroy and her defence, just now managing quite to clear the ball away. The Bell Baxter side came back to finish a 3-1 win. The girls next fixture is against Dunfermline HS in 2 weeks time.


S2/3 Girls Hockey

S2/3 girls had their first fixture against Waid

this week. The young team worked together

really well but unfortunately missed out on

the win by 1 goals towards the end of the

Game.


Anyone who wants to join this team and

train with them are welcome on a Wednesday

MacMillan Coffee Morning - Friday 30th September 2016


Staff and pupils held a very successful coffee morning as part of the MacMillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for cancer support. £400 was raised on the day.
