School Colours

The Colours system recognises achievement in and service to the school entitling pupils to wear blazers and braid.  The Colours system reflects the wider achievements of pupils and in the last few years has been further developed to include the award of “Half Colours” and a “Colours Tie”.

The Colours system forms just one part of the way in which achievement is celebrated at Bell Baxter and they can be awarded for outstanding school achievement in the following areas:

Each Colours category is awarded separately from the others.

This means that Colours can be awarded in several categories in the same year.

The award of Full Colours in two or more categories does not merit an overall Colours Tie.

While staff are asked to put forward nominations for Colours it is also possible for pupils to do so.

Pupils will be given information about the Colours System via the weekly sheet and Social Education. Posters will be displayed on school notice boards outlining the process and the criteria for awards.

Nomination forms are available from the School Office or Pupil Reception and will also be available on the website to download. Completed forms should be returned to Pupil reception or emailed to bellbaxterhs.enquiries@fife.gov.uk

Returns should be made by Friday 9th February, 2018 at the latest.

All nominations will be considered at the Colours Committee meeting in February 2018.

The Committee comprises curriculum representatives, School Captains and invited members of the Parent Council.
