125th Anniversary Celebrations
Programme of Events
There are a number of events taking place to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the school. Events are being organised in partnership with our cluster primary schools, the local Rotary Club, Former Pupils Association and Parent Council all working alongside our pupils and staff.
The programme includes:
Friday, 13th June - Primary/Secondary Cluster Art Exhibition
A Primary/Secondary Art Exhibition will be held in the school on the evening of 13th June from 7-9pm. We would like to extend an invitation to the community to attend a special exhibition of artworks created by Primary 6/7, S1 and former pupils which capture the essence of ‘community spirit’.
Saturday, 14th June - Open Morning
Parents, families, former pupils, former staff and the wider community are welcome to join us for tour of the school throughout the morning of 14th June. Our prefects will be available from 10:30am-12:30pm to provide visitors with a guided tour of the school.
Appeal for Photographs
Over the last 125 years we have collected a range of photographs and documents capturing aspects of school life at Bell Baxter. Current and former staff of the school are working to put together a display of materials from our archives for visitors to the school throughout June, in particular, for our Open Morning on the 14th June. Our oldest photograph dates back to the coronation in 1902, documents include school magazines from the 1940’s and year books from 1993 onwards.
We would like to enlist the help of former pupils and staff to develop the archive for current and future generations of pupils here at Bell Baxter. All donations will be much appreciated; we are particularly interested in increasing our archival material from the 1980s through to the present day.
If you would like to donate photographs or documents to the archive then please hand the materials into the school office, email email@example.com or contact Sylvia Docherty on 01334 659459. All donations are welcome.
A selection will be photographs will be published on the website over the coming months.
