Extra-curricular 2016/2017

There are a number of extra-curricular activities which pupils can become involved in while at Bell Baxter.  There are a range of sports, clubs and activities in the school which run during lunchtimes and after school.

Pupils should speak to their teacher if they would like further information about activities run throughout the school.

S1 Rugby at Bell Baxter

Rugby will be open to all boys after School on Tuesdays. Training will finish at 5 p.m., transport home should be organised. Players should meet at the P.E. changing rooms at the end of the day. No previous playing experience is required to attend this training. The first few weeks will focus on fun, touch rugby games, basic skills and meeting others in the year group. The rugby Programme at Bell Baxter works alongside Howe of Fife RFC; as your son becomes more confident with the game opportunities to take part in fixtures against other schools will be provided. Information in regard to girls rugby will be distributed shortly. Please contact Mr Runciman for any further details.

S1 Hockey at Bell Baxter

Hockey will run on a Thursday after school on the Bell Baxter astro pitch for new S1 boys and girls. Training will finish at 4:45 p.m., transport home should be organised. All new players are welcome, wear P.E. kit, all other equipment provided. Please contact Miss Pollock for any further details.

S2 Football

Training will take place 3 p.m. 4 p.m. at Wetlands. Attendance is essential if you wish to play in upcoming matches. (Mr Lowrie)

S3 Football

Training session starts Tuesday 30th August after school at Wetlands. New players welcome. No regular training sessions this year due to volume of games, so attendance is vital if you wish to be in the team.

S4 Football

If you wish to play in Fife/Scottish Cup matches this season please sign up on the sheet on the PE noticeboard. (Mr Lowrie)

Girls Football

Girls football will be re-starting on Wednesday 24th August 2016- we meet in PE changing rooms after school. As always new members are always welcome- particularly new S1 pupils. If you have any questions please see Miss Oman in CDT.


Hockey training will start the second week back as follows: (Miss Pollock)

Tuesday (S4-6) -   2.50pm      Wednesday (S2/3)   -   3.40pm                    Thursday (S1)   -   3.40pm

A further hockey session will run every Thursday 5.30 p.m. - 6.30 p.m. Costing £3.00 per week.


Netball runs on Wednesday at 3:45 in the Games Hall.  Anyone wishing to play on school teams from any year should attend – bring P.E. kit. New players welcome. (Miss Cunneen)

OCR Club

OCR Club for all senior girls (S4,S5,S6) runs on Tuesdays at 2.50 p.m. in Gym 1. OCR is an exciting circuits training class that prepares us to take part in obstacle course racing events! Looking forward to seeing you there. (Miss Piggott, Miss McNeil)

S1/2 Science Club

Science club will run on a Tuesday lunchtime every week – have your lunch before you come and make your way to room 217 for 12.45pm!! All S1/2 scientists are welcome (Miss Spanner)

Junior Drama Club

Junior Drama clubs runs at lunchtime in the Drama Studio. S1 on Tuesday, S3 on Wednesday and S2 on Friday. All are welcome. A great way to make new friends and learn new skills! Bring your lunch!

The Fairtrade Group meet on Wednesdays at lunchtime in room 214. New members always welcome.

Latin Club

Latin Club is starting on Wednesday lunchtimes in room 420 (Miss Tidd’s room). If you’re interested, do please come along. All welcome (and do bring lunch).

Scripture Union

Scripture Union runs on Mondays at lunchtime in Room 209! Caitlin Burdis in S6 will run this group so please come along as she would love to meet you and hear your suggestions for the group!

Technical Theatre Club

Technical Theatre Club runs on Wednesdays, starting on 31st August. All welcome. Meet in the Drama Studio Tech Area. (Ms K McGladdery)

World Challenge – Borneo 2018

The destination for our 2018 expedition is Borneo.  Any S3 or S4 pupil interested about this overseas expedition should come to a meeting in Learning Hub 1 at the start of lunchtime on Tuesday, 6th September.  If you are unable to make the meeting then please speak with Miss Doig to get further information.
