Pupils to play the bagpipes at the World War 1 memorial service at the Menin Gate in November

Congratulations to Hamish (S4) and Ruadhan (S6) Scrivener-Anderson who have been invited to play the bagpipes at the World War 1 memorial service at the Menin Gate in Ypres this November.

Both boys are part of our school pipe band and also play for the Black Watch ACF Pipes and Drums.

Over the summer Hamish and Ruadhan were invited to play for Her Majesty the Queen at Balmoral.


Toy Drive 2016

The Bell Baxter community were asked to donate new and unwrapped gifts to give to boys and girls of all ages which where then distributed to children and families in need around Fife in time for Christmas.


Department of Additional Support - Pupil Success

Success at the East District X Country Series on Tuesday 1st November:

Arran Howe (S4) won the 1,000 metre race.

Sophie Coughlin (S1) showed great promise, finishing runner up in the girls 1,000 metre race


Success at the Scottish Disability Swimming Championships on Wednesday 23rd November:

Arran Howe (S4) swam the 100m front crawl and Kerry Kotlewski (S4) swam the 50m back crawl. Both performed very well swimming in the top categories for their events. Sophie Bunting (S5) won an excellent bronze medal for 25m front crawl.

Department of Additional Support - Pupil Success

Success at the Scottish Disability Swimming Championships on Wednesday 23rd November:

2016/2017 Prefects Group Photographs


The photographs taken on 27th October is available to purchase, Miss Melville has envelopes from Tempest photography to distribute. The photographs can also be viewed online .

Charities Group - November Update

The Toy Drive donations were collected throughout November.


The Bra Bank was a great success with 2 large bin bag sized parcels being donated by the school.

Winter Warmer Concert - Wednesday 23rd November 2016


A dedicated group of pupils planned the whole evening from

auditioning acts, rehearsals, promotion and selling tickets. Staff

and pupils from the Fairtrade Group sold refreshments at the

interval and a theme of the evening was commemorating the

100 year anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.

Study Support Programme


Study support for Chemistry has now been confirmed for a Thursday night after school.  Please see the main programme for further details.


The Study Support Programme for this session can be downloaded from the website.  Sessions will run from November through to the Easter holidays.  


Pupils should ensure that they have arrangements to get home following the after school supported study sessions.

Mary Leishman Foundation Awards 2016



Pupils involved in the creative arts from Fife secondary schools were acknowledged at the annual Awards Evening for the Foundation on Thursday 24th November.


The Foundation commemorates the life, work and musical theatre involvement of Mary, wife of Cllr. Leishman, Provost of Fife.


Lewis Hann (S6) was awarded on behalf of Bell Baxter.
