Fundraising Ceilidh - Saturday 25th February (7.30 p.m. - 10.30 p.m.)

Catriona Egerton (S3) is organising a ceilidh to fund raise for the World Challenge expedition to Borneo. The ceilidh will be at the new Howe of Fife Rugby Club in Cupar. Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for children. Email Catriona to purchase tickets.

Course: Introduction to Disability Sport

This is a practical based course which will run at Auchmuty High School, Glenrothes. Aimed at any senior pupil (16+yrs) who has an interest in coaching/volunteering in disability sport provision.  Dates: Tuesday 28th February, 7th March and 14th March all 6.00 - 8.30pm.  Please email Jake McAvoy, Active Schools Coordinator to book a place, closing date is 17/2/17.  Course is FREE!

Junior Hockey Easter Camp

St. Andrews University Hockey Club are running an Easter Camp for children aged 7-16. The sessions will be led by Scottish Hockey qualified coaches, including Gavin Byers who has over 100 caps for Scotland. Contact  01334 462190 for more information.

Parents Mid-Session Survey 2016-2017

We have now reached a significant point in the academic session 2016-2017 and it is important to us that we know how you feel we have been doing this year in providing an excellent experience for your child. We have been working hard to ensure we meet the individual needs of all of our young people and want to continue to make improvements to ensure all of our learners have the best experience and can achieve their potential in our school. Our annual survey will be more detailed and distributed in May however your assistance in completing this is much appreciated.

Please take the time to complete the following as fully as you can to enable us to further  improve what we do and provide even better experiences for your child in their time with us. If you have more than one child in the school it would be helpful if you could repeat the process based upon the experience of each child.

Online School Payments

Online school payments will be rolled out to all schools in Fife over the next 12 months. Fife Council is introducing a secure online payment system called iPayimpact which will offer parents/carers a convenient and flexible way to make payments for a range of school services. The system has a ‘shopping basket’ approach, allowing payments to be made for each child including dinner money, school trips, uniforms, after-school clubs, milk and many other school payments in one easy transaction - just add to the basket and check out!

The system will be piloted in Auchmuty Higher School in February 2017, with a roll out to all other secondary schools March - August 2017. Roll out to primary schools will be between September 2017 - March 2018. More information will be issued when we have a confirmed date for Bell Baxter.

Faculty information Fortnight

Pupils in year groups S3-S5 will shortly embark on the option choice process for next session.  You have recently received a bulletin outlining the choices to be made at each stage of the curriculum.  As part of the process, Faculties will be providing additional support to pupils during “Faculty Information Fortnight” which starts week beginning 20th February, 2017.

In order to further support this, a number of career related presentations and activities have been organised by the school aimed at pupils in S3-S5.  These presentations will provide specific information about careers and opportunities in a number of areas.  Pupils should only attend presentations they have identified as a particular career pathway for them.

Please see below for the full list of the events on offer.  I would ask that parents/carers reply directly to this email indicating the presentation they would wish their child to attend by Monday 13
th February.  E-mails should be marked for the attention of Mr. N. Duncan.

Please note places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  Should any event be oversubscribed every attempt will be made to arrange a second event to accommodate pupil interest.


The Eco committee plan to do a Rag Bag collection at the S2 Parents’ Evenings. Any donations should be handed in to the staff room.  Money raised is going to The Teenage Cancer Trust. (Ms C Pour)
